- Photo library access is only for importing PDFs and images locally

All data processing happens locally on your device:
- OCR processing is performed entirely on-device
- All annotations and notes are stored in your device's local storage
- Optional iCloud backup if enabled in your iOS settings
- You maintain full control over your data
3. Data Security
Your data security is ensured through:
- Local storage protected by iOS security features
- No external servers storing your information
- Optional iCloud backup uses Apple's end-to-end encryption
4. Third-Party Services
Our app only integrates with the following services:
- arXiv API for paper metadata retrieval and search
- Optional iCloud for backup (controlled by your iOS settings)
When using the arXiv API:
- We only request publicly available paper information
- No personal data is sent to arXiv servers
- API usage complies with arXiv's terms of service
5. Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- All data can be deleted directly from your device
- Manage app permissions in iOS Settings
- Control iCloud backup settings
- No need to request data deletion as we don't store any personal information
6. Updates to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Privacy Policy in the app.
